Bass Lake Campgrounds is on the East side of the lake. The lake has a beaufiful beach area. The are numerous houses on this lake. Located on SR 10, in northwest Indiana, Bass Lake is Indiana's fourth largest natural lake. A one-half-mile long beach offers swimming and wading. Bass Lake State Beach and campground are open Memorial to Labor Day weekends. Summertime highs at Bass Lake Beach commonly tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Bass Lake Beach are in the 10's. An average amount of rain falls at Bass Lake Beach; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Five miles south of Knox Bluegill/Redear, Catfish, Crappie, Walleye .
Bass Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in California and North Bend Townships, Starke County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,249 at the 2000 census. A post office was established there in 1892, and it is named after the nearby lake which was populated with a large number of black bass.[3]
