Eagle Creek watershed is located approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis. The Eagle Creek reservoir is located completely within Marion. Lilly (Eli Lilly & Company) owned the land and gave it to Purdue University in the late 1950's. The University later sold the land to the city of Indianapolis. An earthen dam was built to control flooding and the result is how we know Eagle Creek today. Come sailing, windsurfing, or bird watching, and you will forget you are only 10 minutes from downtown of the 12th largest city in the country.
